Tomorrow is February 1st (already!) and I have something fun planned for my husband for Valentine’s Day. He is such a thoughtful gift giver when it comes to my birthday and Christmas so it’s nice to be able to do something sweet for him to make him feel special.
We honestly don’t usually do a lot to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We always get each other a nice card and sometimes he might bring home flowers and we will make dinner together. I prefer staying in over worrying about making reservations somewhere or having to wait forever at a busy restaurant. I’m just not that big on putting so much emphasis on one day out of the year – we like to celebrate our love for one another all year long.
This is why I love the idea of doing 14 Days of Valentines – I get to do something special for my husband to show him how much I care about him. It doesn’t cost a lot of money and he appreciates the effort I put into doing something nice for him.
I have been doing this for the last few years. I think he comes to expect it now and looks forward to what little gifts/notes he will receive each day.
I pick 14 small gift ideas and write a cute note to go with each gift. I use these free Valentine frames from Graphics by Ashley Hughes to type my notes up in.
Here are some ideas I’ve done in the past:
I love you, honey bun! (Little Debbie Honey Bun pastry)
After (# of years), I still have a crush on you. (bottle of Grape Crush soda)
I love you to pieces! (box of Reese’s Pieces candy)
We make a great combo! (bag of Combo snacks)
You make my heart go buzzzz! (12 pack of his favorite beer)
I’m thankful each and every day that you walked into my life. (new pair of shoes)
A tasty treat for my sweet! (slice of New York cheesecake)
I’m nuts about you! (bag of his favorite nuts)
10 Things I Love About You (10 notes with reasons why I love him)
I won the lottery when I fell in love with you. (scratcher tickets / lotto cards)
I will always choose you! (granola bar)
I love you a whole bunch! (donuts and orange juice)
You rock my world! (pop rocks candy)
You are my muffin! (blueberry muffin)
I am so fortunate to have you in my life! (decorated mason jar with a few fortunes I’ve written for him)

These are just some of the gifts/notes I’ve given him over the years.
You could even do a variation of this for your kids. They would definitely love receiving little gifts and notes for 14 days.
What are some fun ways you and your other half (or your kids) celebrate Valentine’s Day together? Can you think of other cute gift/note ideas?
